Ankara: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has confirmed that Jordan is in complete alignment with Turkey in rejecting the recent Israeli aggression on Syria. Safadi’s statement came during a press conference held in Ankara alongside Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The press conference was part of an official visit that included prominent figures such as Army Commander Major General Yousef Huneiti and Intelligence Director Major General Ahmed Hosni.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Safadi emphasized the importance of the meeting with Turkey in coordinating efforts to support the Syrian and Palestinian peoples. He highlighted plans to increase cooperation with Turkey to address regional challenges, underscoring that the security and stability of Syria are vital for both Jordan and Turkey due to their geographical proximity.

Safadi criticized Israel’s recent military actions in Syria, labeling them as violations of international law and Syrian sovereignty. This criticism follows Israel’s announcement of the collapse of the 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Israel’s military has since moved into the demilitarized buffer zone in the Syrian Golan Heights and penetrated the countryside of Daraa, actions that have drawn condemnation from the United Nations and Arab nations.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister reiterated Jordan’s stance against terrorism and the return of conflict in Syria, expressing a commitment to supporting the Syrian people in achieving a future that ensures their rights and daily needs. He emphasized that Arab countries are united in their support for Syria’s stability and rebuilding efforts.

Safadi also addressed the ongoing Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip, calling for an end to the aggression and violations in the West Bank. He assured continued efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

On the topic of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and ISIS, Safadi stated that any threat to Turkey’s security is viewed as a threat to Jordan and the region. Jordan stands with Turkey against the Workers’ Party and supports the Kurdish population in Syria living in dignity and stability alongside other Syrian communities.
