Tokyo: The President of the University of Baghdad, Baha Ibrahim Insaf, is currently visiting Japan to engage in discussions with Chiba University’s President, Professor Kotaro Yukite. The focus of their dialogue is the development of scientific partnerships between the two institutions, emphasizing joint scientific research, the enhancement of scientific laboratories, and the implementation of digital systems programs for students and administrative bodies at the University of Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Insaf highlighted the significance of strengthening cooperation between the two universities. This includes initiatives supported by the University of Baghdad, such as the “Study in Iraq” program. The university is eager to welcome Japanese students at both undergraduate and graduate levels and is keen on initiating joint project programs in teaching, supervision, research fellowships, and collaboration between Iraqi and Japanese researchers.

Professor Kotaro Yukite expressed appreciation for the University of Baghdad’s role as a prominent institution in its region. He conveyed Chiba University’s enthusiasm for continuing and expanding its academic collaboration with the University of Baghdad, in line with the memorandum of understanding signed in February 2017.

Both universities reaffirmed the value of two decades of collaboration between the University of Baghdad and various Japanese universities, as well as eight years of partnership with Chiba University. This ongoing relationship is seen as a testament to the productive exchanges between these esteemed academic institutions.
