Gaza: Journalist Ahmed Al-Shayyah has been martyred in an Israeli bombing targeting the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis city, in the southern region of the Gaza Strip. The government media office in Gaza reported this development, highlighting the ongoing risks faced by media personnel in the area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the martyrdom of Al-Shayyah marks a significant and somber milestone, raising the number of Palestinian journalists who have lost their lives to 205 since the start of the conflict in Gaza, which has persisted for 16 months. Al-Shayyah was known for his work as a correspondent, editor, and producer with various media outlets.

The media office expressed condemnation of Israel’s continued targeting of Palestinian journalists. It urged Arab and international human rights unions and institutions to speak out against these actions, which it described as systematic crimes against media professionals operating in Gaza.
