Geneva: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has reported a grim statistic, announcing that 35 Palestinian children are killed daily in the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression. This alarming figure highlights the severe impact of the conflict on the youngest and most vulnerable population in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, UNICEF Spokesman James Elder shared these findings during a weekly press conference at the United Nations office in Geneva, Switzerland. Elder cited medical data indicating that a staggering 15,000 children have lost their lives since October 7, 2023. He elaborated on the scale of this tragedy by stating, “This means killing 35 children per day for 14 months.”

In addition, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) provided further distressing information. The agency reported that approximately 15 children are injured daily, sustaining disabilities that could persist throughout their lives. These injuries are attributed to the explosive weapons deployed by the Israeli army in its ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip during 2024. UNRWA detailed that around 475 children each month have suffered lifelong disabilities, including severe limb injuries and hearing impairments, as a result of the hostilities.
