Jenin: The Israeli army continued its military operation in the city of Jenin and its camp in the northern West Bank for the third consecutive day. The operation has resulted in 12 martyrs until Thursday morning, according to Palestinian medical sources.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Israeli army assassinated the wanted men Muhammad Abu Al-Assad and Qutaiba Al-Shalabi after an armed clash with Israeli forces that lasted for several hours in the town of Burqin, west of Jenin. The death toll from the Israeli operation in Jenin and its camp has risen to 12 dead, including a child, with more than 50 wounded with varying injuries, some of them serious, according to official Palestinian medical sources.

The Israeli army has imposed a complete siege on the city, closed its camp, and carried out extensive raids and incursions in the West Bank, which included confrontations and arrests of several Palestinians. Local sources reported that two large explosions were heard in Jenin camp, and Israeli forces have sent more military reinforcements and bulldozers to its outskirts.

Israeli forces have forced hundreds of Palestinian families to leave the camp and subjected Palestinians to strict search procedures, including stripping young men completely, as reported by Arab 48. The Israeli army arrested 11 people, and its bulldozers continued to destroy the infrastructure and the entrance to the government hospital. It has also besieged the city’s hospitals and restricted the movement of medical staff. Snipers remain on top of buildings, shooting at any moving object, amid heavy movement of Israeli military vehicles.

For its part, Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that its members are engaging in fierce clashes with the occupation forces using machine guns and homemade bombs in the towns of Araba and Fahma, west of Jenin. The Jenin Battalion, affiliated with Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, stated that its fighters are engaging in fierce battles with the occupation army, showering it with bullets, and achieving confirmed casualties.

The resistance factions have reportedly ambushed the occupation forces and their military vehicles. On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the start of the anti-terrorism operation “Iron Wall” in Jenin in the West Bank, indicating that it aims to enhance security.
