Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has reiterated Iraq’s call to establish a fund dedicated to the reconstruction of Gaza and Lebanon. In a recent statement from his media office, it was revealed that Al-Sudani made a phone call to the Iraqi doctor, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Kamil Abu Raghif, who has been volunteering in Gaza hospitals amid ongoing aggression, where he has played a crucial role in saving numerous lives, including those of children.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the call, Al-Sudani praised Dr. Abu Raghif as an “ambassador of humanity,” emphasizing that his efforts in Gaza reflect a proud and honorable position for Iraqis and advocates worldwide. The Prime Minister commended Dr. Abu Raghif’s dedication, describing it as the epitome of the noble objectives of the medical profession and a testament to the solidarity of the Iraqi people with those affected by the violence in Gaza.

Al-Sudani extended an invitation to Dr. Abu Raghif to visit Baghdad, intending to honor his humanitarian achievements. Furthermore, Al-Sudani renewed Iraq’s commitment to spearheading efforts to establish a rebuilding fund for Gaza and Lebanon, affirming Iraq’s pledge to be a primary contributor.

In response, Dr. Abu Raghif expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and highlighted that the dire circumstances in Gaza motivated him to fulfill his humanitarian duty. He underscored that his voluntary service in Gaza hospitals symbolizes the spirit of Iraqis, who, given the chance, would eagerly join in supporting the people of Gaza during these challenging times.
