Police Forces Arrest Suspect in Killing and Theft Case in Southern Baghdad

Baghdad: Karkh police forces arrested a suspect in the killing of a citizen and the theft of his vehicle south of Baghdad. The Police Command stated in a statement that: "After receiving information about the presence of an unidentified body lying on the side of the expressway under the Dora Expressway Bridge towards Yusufiyah, the scene of the accident was moved and it was found that the body had been exposed to several gunshots in the body."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, due to the importance of the incident, a working team was formed under the supervision of the Baghdad Karkh Police Commander. Through technical security work, the ownership of the victim's vehicle that was stolen during the accident was identified. In-depth collection of information and investigation led authorities to the vehicle's location, parked in front of a shop selling used spare parts in the Talabiya area, with all its parts disassembled.

The report continued that the shop owner was arrested, and during the investigation, it was found that he had purchased the vehicle from someone. The accused's house in the Ur neighborhood was located, and he was arrested. His statements were recorded, confessing to committing his crime.
