Amman: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi confirmed today that the solution to the Palestinian issue is a Palestinian solution, emphasizing Amman’s steadfast rejection of displacement. He reiterated that the Kingdom of Jordan is for Jordanians and the State of Palestine is for Palestinians.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Safadi made these statements during discussions with Sigrid Kaag, the Acting Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and Senior Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza. He asserted that “establishing the Palestinians on their land is a Jordanian constant that has not and will not change,” and stressed that the Palestinian issue should be resolved within Palestine.

Safadi highlighted Jordan’s ongoing efforts, under royal directives, to deliver the largest amount of aid to Gaza, ensuring its uninterrupted flow in preparation for reconstruction efforts. He also expressed Jordan’s eagerness to collaborate with the US administration to achieve regional peace.

The Foreign Minister noted that Jordan is actively working with regional partners to take clear steps towards peace. Both Safadi and Kaag emphasized the importance of continued cooperation to realize a just and comprehensive peace, which would involve establishing an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty based on the two-state solution, following the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, Safadi highlighted that regional security, stability, and peace hinge on fulfilling Palestinian rights, allowing an independent Palestinian state to coexist peacefully with Israel. This vision aligns with international law, legitimacy resolutions, and approved references.

He remarked on the regional changes and breakthroughs, such as the recent prisoner exchange deal that led to a ceasefire and facilitated aid to Gaza. Safadi also mentioned developments in Lebanon and Syria, affirming Jordan’s commitment to working with all parties to build on these advancements.
