Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fatah Movement and Chairman of the Palestinian Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Jibril Rajoub, in a meeting also attended by the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal. The discussions focused on the situation in the occupied territories and the hardships faced by the Palestinian people, with al-Sudani reiterating Iraq’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the aspirations of its people.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani emphasized the significance of supporting Palestinian sports, highlighting its role in engaging with the international community and portraying the resilience of the Palestinian people. He stressed that sports could serve to consolidate Palestinian rights and garner support against aggression.

The meeting also explored ways to enhance cooperation between Iraq and Palestine in the fields of youth and sports. This would involve
organizing camps and conferences aimed at benefiting youth and sports development in both regions.
