Ankara: Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan have jointly declared their support for the establishment of a free and independent Palestinian state. The declaration was made at the conclusion of a meeting held in Ankara, where the three nations affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to establish their state on the 1967 borders with East Quds as its capital.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the joint declaration emphasized the need to end the violence in the Gaza Strip, ensure unhindered access to humanitarian aid, and work towards a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution. The countries also welcomed the United Nations resolution to accept Palestine as a member state, urging global recognition of the Palestinian state.

The three nations agreed to enhance cooperation within international organizations including the United Nations, the Organization of Turkic Speaking States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. They highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts on issues of common interest.

The declaration also focused on supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, while adhering to principles of international law. The countries expressed their intention to enhance economic cooperation through joint projects in trade, investment, industry, energy, transportation, logistics, and communications.

The declaration was made at the ministerial level, involving the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Economy, and Transport from the three countries. They emphasized the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership based on mutual respect, trust, common interests, and historical and cultural ties.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with ministers from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan who participated in the trilateral meeting forum.
