Baghdad: The National Security Chancellery hosted today the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Implementation of the Security Agreement between the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The gathering was significant in addressing the measures and challenges related to the bilateral agreement.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Chancellery issued a statement highlighting that Counselor Qasim Al-Araji, head of the committee, led the Iraqi delegation. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan region, Reber Ahmed, and other regional representatives. Maskarian led the delegation representing the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the measures already taken to implement the agreement's terms. They also discussed current obstacles and challenges, focusing on actions needed to expedite the agreement's full implementation. Al-Araji emphasized the Iraqi government's commitment to ensuring that Iraqi territory is not used as a base for attacks on neighboring countries. It was also agreed to hold a subsequent meeting in the Kurdistan Region to further these discussions.
