Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has pledged to continue his country's nuclear program indefinitely, as reported by state media. This declaration comes shortly after US President Donald Trump expressed his intention to engage with North Korea through new diplomatic channels.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) conveyed Kim's commitment following his visit to a nuclear equipment production facility. During this visit, Kim cautioned about an "inevitable" confrontation with countries he labeled as hostile and evil, emphasizing that the year 2025 would be critical for bolstering North Korea's nuclear capabilities.

The KCNA quoted Kim Jong Un stating that the mission to enhance the state's nuclear response posture remains "noble and unwavering." His comments were made in the wake of North Korea's recent strategic cruise missile test, marking the first military test since President Trump resumed office.
