Basra: The 12th coordination conference of the National Committee to Combat Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism began in Basra Governorate today, Thursday, with the participation of local governments from the governorates of Iraq. The event marked a significant gathering aimed at addressing the challenges posed by violent extremism and enhancing community security across the nation.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, emphasized in his speech the critical role of the local government in fostering cooperation among the governorates. He highlighted the conference’s objective to unify national efforts against extremism by strengthening coordination between local institutions. Al-Eidani underscored the importance of exchanging experiences among the governorates to achieve effective and tangible outcomes in combating extremist ideologies.
