President of the Republic Highlights Dialogue as Key to Regional Stability


Baghdad: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized that regional stability can only be achieved through dialogue and understanding, stating that escalation and foreign interventions will not lead to the desired security.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a presidential statement indicated that the President received Ruhollah Deghani Firouzabad, head of the Iranian Governance and Policy Research Center, along with his delegation, at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad. During their meeting, President Rashid discussed the latest regional developments and challenges, highlighting Iraq’s foreign policy, which is anchored in balance and mutual respect, and rejects polarization or escalation.



The President reiterated Iraq’s support for the Palestinian people in securing their full legitimate rights and establishing an independent state on their national soil, while also emphasizing Iraq’s commitment to the stability of Syria. Furthermore, he underscored the significance of enhancing scientific and technical cooperation between research institutions in Iraq and Iran, which would support sustainable development and leverage mutual experiences. He stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperative efforts to serve the common interests of both nations.



Firouzabad, for his part, acknowledged the strong ties between Iraq and Iran, expressing a desire to expand partnerships in various scientific and technological domains. He emphasized the potential for enhanced cooperation in research and innovation to benefit both countries.
