New York: The United Nations General Assembly adopted, on Monday, a draft resolution calling for a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in Ukraine, in line with the UN Charter.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the United States had submitted the draft resolution last Friday, which urged an end to the conflict as soon as possible. However, European countries proposed amendments to the original draft.
The amended text garnered 93 votes in favor, with 8 countries opposing it, while 73 countries chose to abstain from the voting process.
