Cairo: The emergency Arab summit on Gaza commenced in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, is attending the summit, which aims to formulate a plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and address recent developments in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the summit was convened following widespread Arab and international opposition to US President Donald Trump’s suggestions concerning the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. Additionally, the meeting comes in response to statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the potential establishment of a Palestinian state within Saudi Arabia.
