Berlin: Germany called on Israel to immediately lift all restrictions imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Sebastian Fischer, spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry, said in a press statement that his country is “deeply concerned about Israel’s decision to stop the entry of all humanitarian aid into Gaza,” stressing that preventing aid “is not a legitimate means.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fischer added that “the German government calls on Israel to immediately lift all restrictions imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” stressing the need to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the Strip without obstacles at all times.” He referred to the decision of the International Court of Justice obligating Israel to ensure the provision of basic materials and urgent humanitarian aid in Gaza without obstacles, calling on Israel to fulfill its obligations under international law.

Israel had previously announced the suspension of the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and the closure of the crossings “until further notice.”
