Al-Maliki Asserts Iraq’s Strength Against Conspiracies, Emphasizes Youth’s Role in National Unity

Baghdad: Under the slogan "By the Blessing of Their Blood We Live," a ceremony was held in Baghdad to honor the families of security forces martyrs. The event, patronized by Othman al-Shaibani, a member of the State of Law Coalition for Human Rights, saw attendance from over 1,000 young men from martyr families, as well as notable figures including Nouri al-Maliki, leader of the State of Law Coalition, along with MPs, officials, academics, and other dignitaries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the ceremony, Nouri al-Maliki delivered a speech highlighting the triumph over terrorism, attributing it to the guidance of wise religious authority and the sacrifices of security forces. Al-Maliki acknowledged the challenges facing Iraq but expressed confidence that the awareness of the youth would protect the nation and its political process, preventing any attempts to instigate chaos or terrorism.

Al-Maliki further called upon the youth to play a crucial role in safeguarding the political system and the democratic experience of Iraq. He warned against discussions of dividing Iraq, labeling it a longstanding Zionist conspiracy, and urged the preservation of national unity against divisive forces.

Othman Al-Shaibani, a human rights activist, also spoke at the ceremony, highlighting Iraq's strength attributed to its leadership, armed forces, and pluralistic democratic system. He emphasized the nation's pioneering experience and the significance of national forces in maintaining stability and progress.
