Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan highlighted the necessity of coordination between Turkey and Egypt on regional issues during a phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan and el-Sisi discussed the relations between their countries and addressed regional and international matters during their phone call. The Turkish Presidency’s Communications Directorate released a statement detailing the discussion on Saturday.

Erdogan emphasized the significance of continuous collaboration between Turkey and Egypt to address regional concerns. The conversation included discussions on the need for joint efforts to end the ongoing violence in Gaza, following Israel’s breach of the ceasefire. Erdogan stressed the importance of achieving a lasting ceasefire and establishing peace in the region.

The Turkish President reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and assured that humanitarian aid to Gaza would continue through the Egyptian port of El-Arish. He expressed appreciation to Egypt for its assistance in facilitating this aid.
