Duhok: Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, emphasized that while Iraq has successfully navigated security, political, and social hurdles, it now confronts a significant economic challenge. A statement from his office highlighted his recent meeting with sheikhs and dignitaries from the Barwari tribe at their guesthouse in Duhok Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim reflected on the historical ties and numerous milestones shared with the people of Kurdistan. He emphasized that these relationships are a legacy inherited from previous generations, underscoring the sacrifices made by Iraqis to liberate themselves from past dictatorships, including events in Halabja, Anfal, and through the mass graves, leading to their current self-governance.

Al-Hakim advocated for open dialogue and transparency to address unresolved issues, noting that differences are an inherent part of Iraq’s diverse landscape. He argued that the true shame lies in allowing these differences to hinder progress. He underscored the importance of adhering to the constitution and engaging in dialogue to foster a robust Iraq.

Highlighting the direct impact of regional conflicts on Iraq, al-Hakim called for unity and resilience to rebuild the nation. He paid tribute to the late leader Fadhil Barwari for his efforts against terrorism and reiterated the need to transcend the rentier state model. He urged a shift towards revitalizing sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology.

Al-Hakim also stressed the importance of patience and perseverance in overcoming current crises, advocating for Iraq’s neutrality in regional conflicts and fostering strong relations with all neighboring countries. He concluded by expressing his admiration and pride in the Kurdish community.
