Hidalgo: At least four people were killed in devastating storms that swept through the Texas-Mexico border, US media reported. Local officials confirmed the fatalities, highlighting the severe impact of the storms that hit areas near the border, causing heavy rains and widespread flooding.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hidalgo, Willacy, and Cameron counties in Texas experienced one of the most intense storms in recent years. The storm system persisted for approximately 48 hours, beginning on Wednesday and continuing with heavy rains on Thursday afternoon and evening before finally subsiding on Friday afternoon.



The US National Weather Service issued multiple emergency warnings regarding flood risks during the storm, emphasizing the extreme danger of the situation. The warnings highlighted the potential for significant flooding and urged residents to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
