Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received a phone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday evening, during which they exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the call included discussions on the situation of the Palestinian people. The Prime Minister affirmed Iraq’s firm and principled position in condemning the aggression and supporting the historical rights of the Palestinian people.

For his part, Abbas expressed his thanks and appreciation to Iraq for its supportive and steadfast positions on the Palestinian cause, its provision of all forms of support to the Palestinian people, and its efforts to enhance stability in the region.
