Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed during a Cabinet meeting on Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s response to the US President’s letter reached them via the Sultanate of Oman. Pezeshkian conveyed that while direct negotiations were ruled out, the option for indirect talks remains open.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is not opposed to negotiations but highlighted that previous failures to fulfill promises have created issues. He noted that addressing these problems requires a correction in course and rebuilding of trust between the two nations.
In this context, Pezeshkian mentioned that the future of negotiations hinges on the approach taken by the United States.
