Border Crossings Thwart Attempt to Evade Customs Fees at Mandali Crossing

Mandali: Border crossing detachments at Mandali have intercepted a vehicle carrying undeclared agricultural nylon, preventing a significant loss of public funds totaling 73 million dinars. The vehicle was stopped at a search point outside the customs area, where it was discovered that the product protection material had not been listed in the completed customs transaction.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the port directorate revealed that the description and declaration of the material, specifically proof nylon roll, were altered to avoid paying the required product protection fees. This fraudulent activity could have resulted in a considerable waste of public resources.

A formal seizure report was compiled, and both the vehicle and the undeclared goods were handed over to the Mandali Customs Police Station. Authorities are now taking the necessary legal steps to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
