Baghdad: Security forces arrested a suspect for smuggling petroleum products and seized his vehicle in the Karkh side of Baghdad Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior stated that detachments of the Third Energy Police Brigade, in coordination with the Energy Police Intelligence Department, arrested the suspect. The arrest was made due to the absence of images of previous shipments in the Ministry of Oil’s tanker movement monitoring program, which led to the seizure of the suspect’s tanker vehicle.

The Ministry further explained that the suspect was detained and the seized items were confiscated in line with Law No. (41) of 2008, which addresses the combating of oil and its derivatives smuggling activities.
