Al-Sudani Directs Governorates to Complete Provision of Serviced Residential Plots

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired the second regular session of 2025 of the Higher Coordination Commission between Governorates today, Sunday. The session addressed general issues and files related to the governorates, as well as the progress of implementing the government program components related to the governorates.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, at the beginning of the session, the Prime Minister reviewed the general economic situation, the implementation of development plans, the international economic situation, and the variables that may affect the Iraqi economy, particularly the economic recession and the potential decline in global oil prices.

Al-Sudani stated that the government will continue to implement measures and steps related to the oil sector, proceed with the contracting process to complete the gas platform to provide gas fuel for power plants, and continue with projects to relieve congestion in the electricity grid.

Al-Sudani stressed the importance of the Ministry of Trade and relevant authorities in the governorates being fully prepared for the upcoming crop marketing season and the payment of farmers' dues. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to the water quotas allocated to the governorates and not exceeding them.
