Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces arrested a number of suspects, including two for "premeditated murderers" and others "parties to armed clashes," and seized unlicensed weapons and ammunition in Karkh and Rusafa.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement that, in accordance with the security plan drawn up to enhance security, stability, and enforce the law, security units in the 17th Infantry Division, the 1st Federal Police Division, and the Commando Brigade continued their regional search and inspection duties, armed reconnaissance, security exercises, and the establishment of temporary "sudden" checkpoints to pursue outlaws, organized crime elements, criminals, and perpetrators of tribal conflicts (terrorizing residential neighborhoods).
These operations resulted in the arrest of several suspects under various legal provisions, including two individuals charged with "premeditated murder" who shot and killed a citizen following a quarrel among them, and others involved in armed clashes. A number of unlicensed weapons and ammunition were seized in the areas of Al-Shuhadaa neighborhood, Al-Yusufiya, Shuhada Abu Ghraib, Al-Nahrawan, Al-Karrada, Al-Mada'in, Diyala Bridge, and Al-Tuwaitha neighborhoods, both on the Karkh and Rusafa sides.
