Popular Mobilization Forces and Security Forces Carry Out a Joint Operation South of Mosul


Mosul: Units of the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a large-scale joint security operation south of Mosul on Tuesday.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was conducted in collaboration with units of the Iraqi Army from the 16th Division, the Nineveh Police Command, and the National Security Directorate. Various security and intelligence agencies were also involved. The operation unfolded on two main axes to search and clear Kanous Island and its surrounding areas. The operation included participation from the Popular Mobilization Forces’ Operations, Intelligence, Media, Medical, and Explosives Departments, alongside forces from the 58th and 73rd Brigades.



The operation aims to enhance security and maintain the stability experienced by Nineveh Governorate while preventing any attempts to destabilize the situation in the liberated areas.
