Trump Increases Tariffs on China to 125%

Washington: US President Donald Trump confirmed on Wednesday that tariffs on China have been raised to 125%.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump announced in press statements, “Tariffs on China have been raised to 125%, and they will take effect immediately,” highlighting his stance that China has not respected global markets.

He further asserted, “China must realize that exploiting the United States is no longer acceptable,” indicating a firm approach towards trade relations with China.

Additionally, Trump mentioned a temporary relief for other nations, stating, “I have allowed a 90-day suspension of tariffs for countries that have not retaliated against us,” offering a grace period for those maintaining amicable trade relations with the United States.

The US President also noted significant international communication, confirming that more than 75 countries have reached out concerning the tariffs, potentially indicating widespread global interest and concern over the new trade measures.
