Brussels: European Union member states have agreed to impose retaliatory tariffs ranging from 10% to 25% on US imports, which the European Commission says will be implemented on April 15.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the European Union agreed on Wednesday to impose tariffs on US goods worth £21 billion. The European Commission approved a package of counter-tariffs targeting US aluminum and steel products.
European Union countries were anticipated to sanction the bloc’s first counter-measures on Wednesday in response to the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. The move aligns with actions taken by China and Canada, as these countries respond to Washington’s trade policies.
