Khanaqin: A security source denied that Kurdish security forces had entered security checkpoints in Khanaqin district in Diyala Governorate. The source told a correspondent for the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the news circulating on social media regarding Kurdish security forces entering security checkpoints within the borders of Khanaqin, northeast of Baqubah, most notably Qaban checkpoint, is incorrect and baseless.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the source confirmed that dividing security tasks in the joint areas on the border between Diyala and Sulaymaniyah has had a positive impact on security in the region and prevented any breaches. Social media platforms have reported reports of Peshmerga forces moving towards federal military checkpoints in Khanaqin district.
