Babylon: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the need for concerted efforts to preserve archaeological and heritage sites.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency’s Media Office stated in a statement that President Rashid met with Babylon Governor Adnan Fayhan al-Dulaimi, the head of the provincial council, Asaad al-Maslamawi, and several members of the provincial council during the International Day of Babylonian Civilization celebration. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Mohammed Tamim, along with a number of advisors to the Presidency.

During the meeting, President Rashid praised the efforts of the province and its people in commemorating the International Day of Babylonian Civilization. He emphasized that celebrating this day serves as a reminder of Babylon’s ancient history, cultural heritage, and the knowledge it has contributed to humanity. The President highlighted the importance of joining efforts to preserve archaeological and heritage sites, as they represent the nation’s history and legacy. He expressed his happiness to be part of the celebration.

President Rashid also spoke about the responsibilities of the local government and administrative leaders to improve the economic and living conditions in Babylon. He stressed the importance of continuous communication with citizens and the need to address their issues while providing quality services.

The President addressed the country’s situation, focusing on efforts to confront terrorism and emphasizing the need to strengthen security, stability, peaceful coexistence, and social justice.

Governor Al-Dulaimi and Chairman Al-Maslamawi expressed their gratitude to the President for his interest in the governorate and participation in the World Day of Babylonian Civilization events. They also shared plans and programs aimed at developing services for citizens and advancing projects in investment, tourism, and infrastructure rehabilitation within the governorate.
