Baghdad: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, alongside Palestinian Interior Minister Ziad Mahmoud Mohammed and an official delegation, visited the Iraqi Border Forces Command Headquarters in the capital.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the delegation was briefed by the Commander of the Border Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Wahab Sakr. The briefing included a comprehensive presentation on the tasks and duties of the command and the efforts to secure Iraq’s borders with neighboring countries. A documentary film showcased the command’s achievements, focusing on security fortifications and modern technologies used in border surveillance.
The visit also featured a tour of the border camera monitoring and control center, which displays images from thermal imaging cameras deployed along the border. These technologies significantly contribute to enhancing monitoring and response capabilities. The Palestinian Minister of Interior praised the development in the performance and technical capabilities of the Iraqi Border Forces Command.
