Diyala: A joint force has launched a security operation on the administrative border between Diyala and Salah al-Din governorates. A security source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) correspondent: “A joint security force, supported by intelligence detachments, has begun implementing a security operation on two axes to secure Al-Azim Basin sector between Diyala and Salah al-Din.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation aims to secure areas near Al-Azim Basin as part of a plan to enhance security and stability and prevent any activity by ISIS terrorist gangs, since the region has a complex geographical terrain.
