Prime Minister Highlights Intent to Bolster Strategic Cooperation with United States


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received representatives from HKN Energy, an oil and energy company, on Thursday. During the meeting, discussions were centered around enhancing cooperation between Iraq and HKN Energy, recognized as a key player in the oil sector. The talks took place against the backdrop of significant facilities and incentives the Iraqi government has put in place to attract foreign investment.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister al-Sudani emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering investment, highlighting it as a priority within its agenda. He extended a warm welcome to all companies operating within Iraq, placing special emphasis on American companies that have been involved in the country’s oil fields.



Al-Sudani further elaborated on the government’s intent to broaden strategic cooperation with the United States, aiming to fortify relations across various sectors. This effort aligns with existing agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between Iraq and the United States, underscoring a shared commitment to mutual growth and collaboration.
