Basra: The Basra local government has announced the receipt of a French-funded drinking water desalination project in one of the governorate’s areas.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Deputy Governor of Basra made this announcement following a meeting with French Ambassador Patrick Durel. The project is funded by the French Embassy in Iraq and executed by Mercy Corps, a non-governmental organization, in collaboration with the Basra Water Directorate. This initiative is part of efforts to enhance vital infrastructure within the governorate.
The Deputy Governor confirmed the project’s completion and operational status, acknowledging the contributions of the French Embassy and the implementing organization. He affirmed the local government’s dedication to supporting initiatives that improve services for residents.
