Nechirvan Barzani Advocates for Kurdish Rights in Syria During Meeting with Syrian President


Antalya: Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa as part of his participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, the two sides discussed the future of Syria’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, based on good neighborliness and common interests. They emphasized confronting the dangers of ISIS.



Sharaa presented his vision for Syria with all its components, stating that Syria should be a country for all citizens and components, with the constitution protecting their rights. For his part, the Kurdistan Region President praised Sharaa’s vision, stressing the importance of peace and stability in the country and a political solution to the problems in a way that guarantees the rights of all components, especially the Kurdish people in Syria, and leads to maintaining security and stability in the region.



The fourth Antalya Diplomatic Forum (ADF2025) kicked off on Friday, under the theme “Adhering to Diplomacy in a Divided World.”
