Al-Hakim Urges Diyala Governor to Focus on Service and Avoid Political Rivalry


Baghdad: The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, has underscored the necessity for local governments to remain distant from political rivalry. In a meeting with Diyala Governor Adnan al-Shammari, al-Hakim stressed the importance of maintaining a service-oriented approach in local governance.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National State Forces Alliance released a statement outlining the topics discussed during the meeting. Al-Hakim and Governor al-Shammari examined the current service situation in Diyala Governorate and explored potential avenues for improvement. They highlighted the governorate’s assets in agriculture, industry, and tourism, along with its contributions to energy production.



Al-Hakim advocated for attracting investments to the governorate and diversifying its income sources. He also emphasized leveraging the expertise available at Diyala University to further these aims. Al-Hakim reiterated that local governments should remain focused on service delivery, adhering to the decentralization principle embedded in the Iraqi constitution.
