Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani engaged in discussions with the American Medical Services Group regarding a proposal to establish an integrated medical city in Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the proposal was deliberated during a meeting between Prime Minister Al-Sudani and Dr. Eisen Marouji, Chairman of the American Medical Services Group. The proposal includes the development of a 200-bed cancer hospital, complete with construction, equipment, and operational facilities. Additional components of the project consist of a training academy, a pharmaceutical factory, and a nursing college. The project aims to recruit over 200 specialists, including doctors, nurses, and administrators, to manage and operate the facilities. The funding for this initiative will be provided by the American Medical Services Group and is anticipated to generate more than 1,500 local job opportunities.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani instructed the preparation of a 60-dunum plot of land in Rashid Camp for the project. He emphasized the government’s commitment to activating all provisions of the framework agreement with the United States, particularly those related to cooperation in the health sector.
