Russian Air Defenses: 115 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down in the Southwest of the Country


Baghdad: Russian air defenses shot down 115 Ukrainian drones in the country’s southwestern provinces. A statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense said: “Air defenses shot down 115 Ukrainian drones, including 109 in Kursk Oblast, 3 in Voronezh Oblast, 1 in Moscow Oblast, 1 in Bryansk Oblast, and 1 in Oryol Oblast.”



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the incident highlights the ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense detailed the locations of the drones, with the majority intercepted in Kursk Oblast. Smaller numbers were reported in Voronezh, Moscow, Bryansk, and Oryol Oblasts.



The statement did not provide further details on the nature of the drones or the potential damage they might have caused had they not been intercepted. The development is part of a broader conflict affecting the region, with both nations exchanging accusations of airspace violations in recent months.
