Al-Mandalawi and Al-Safadi Commit to Boost Parliamentary Ties and Activate Friendship Committee

Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, engaged in discussions with Ahmed Al-Safadi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Jordan, at his residence on Thursday evening. The meeting, which included a parliamentary delegation from Jordan, focused on mutual interests, political developments, and the latest happenings in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandalawi highlighted the strong relationship between Iraq and Jordan, emphasizing the importance of leveraging this connection to strengthen cooperation across various domains, particularly in economic, security, and investment sectors. He underscored the necessity of enhancing parliamentary cooperation by reactivating the Iraqi-Jordanian Friendship Committee and promoting exchanges of visits and expertise between members of both legislative bodies to serve the interests of both nations and their citizens.

Al-Mandalawi also advocated for a coordinated approach in regional and international parliamentary forums on key Arab issues. He called for support of diplomatic efforts aimed at halting Zionist aggression towards Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, and urged continued pressure on the occupying entity to thwart its detrimental plans, particularly the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland.
