Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has announced the provision of necessary assistance to the Iraqi Medical Association in the United Kingdom and Europe. This move aims to bolster the collaboration between Iraqi medical professionals abroad and the healthcare development initiatives within Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's media office released a statement following a meeting with a delegation from the Iraqi Medical Association in the United Kingdom and Europe. The delegation included senior heads of medical institutions from Britain and European countries. Al-Sudani lauded the delegation's visit and emphasized the government's commitment to supporting Iraqi doctors through a Diwani order.

Al-Sudani outlined the government's current philosophy regarding the health sector, detailing achievements such as the implementation of a health insurance law, improvements in health infrastructure, and the completion of numerous stalled projects. He also highlighted the adoption of a joint hospital operation model and the localization of pharmaceutical industries, emphasizing their importance to drug security and national security.

The visiting delegation proposed the establishment of a joint, sustainable project in Iraq. This initiative would focus on training and providing medical consultations in various specialties, equipping Iraqi doctors to pass the British Fellowship exam, and volunteering within Iraqi health institutions.
