Istanbul: Istanbul will host Turkish-Russian consultations on Middle East issues tomorrow, Friday, at the level of the two countries' Deputy Foreign Ministers. Sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that the meeting will discuss Middle East issues at the level of the Turkish and Russian Deputy Foreign Ministers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish side will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz, and the Russian side by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. The Syrian and Palestinian issues will top the agenda of the talks, given the rapid developments in both Syria and Palestine. The two sides are expected to discuss ways to enhance bilateral and regional cooperation to address these issues, in addition to exchanging views on the latest developments in the region.

These consultations come within the framework of the ongoing political dialogue between Ankara and Moscow on regional and international issues of common interest. Bogdanov is considered one of Russia's most prominent experts on Middle Eastern affairs, playing a pivotal role in shaping Russia's foreign policy toward the region.

The consultative round is also expected to discuss ways to strengthen coordination mechanisms between the two countries in light of current regional challenges, with a focus on the Syrian crisis and prospects for its resolution, as well as developments in the Palestinian issue and escalating tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
