PUK Announces Movement to Revive Kurdistan Alliance for Upcoming Elections

Erbil: The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has reaffirmed its efforts to revive the Kurdistan Alliance in the upcoming parliamentary elections. This move seeks to extend the alliance not only within the Kurdistan Region but also to include disputed areas.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, PUK leader Rezan Sheikh Dler revealed in a press statement that signs of this revival have been evident during negotiations to form the regional government. Dler indicated that these negotiations are expected to serve as a gateway for the two parties to present a united front on a single list in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

Dler further explained that discussions concerning the alliance extend beyond the Kurdistan Region. Areas such as Nineveh, Diyala, and Kirkuk are included in the plans, with the objective of unifying all Kurds under a single electoral list. This strategy aims to enhance the political influence of the Kurds across both regional and disputed territories.
