Baghdad: Iraq has officially invited Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to attend the upcoming Arab Summit, which is set to take place in Baghdad on the 17th of next month. The invitation was personally delivered by Ahmed Fakak al-Badrani, Iraq’s Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Badrani, acting on the directive of Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, emphasized the importance of the summit in addressing the challenges confronting the Arab nation. During his visit to Damascus, Al-Badrani also engaged in discussions with the Syrian Minister of Culture about enhancing cultural ties between the two nations.

Syrian Minister of Culture, Mohammad Yassin, commented on the deep-rooted connections between Iraq and Syria, underscoring their shared civilization and history that span thousands of years. He remarked that the two countries are essentially one people, united by common traits and undeterred by artificial borders.

Yassin further expressed Syria’s eagerness to collaborate and participate with Iraq across various sectors, highlighting a commitment to fostering a collaborative cultural landscape.
