Basra: The head of the Security Committee of the Basra Provincial Council, Aqeel Talib Al-Furaiji, received the South Korean Ambassador to Iraq, Song Soo-Joo, on Monday. Al-Furaiji explained in a statement: "The ambassador's visit came to review the preparations for receiving the South Korean national team in Basra in early June, to play a match against the Iraqi national team in the World Cup qualifiers at Basra International Stadium." According to National Iraqi News Agency, a technical delegation from the Korean Football Association has arrived in Basra to inspect the city's hotels and training grounds, as part of the preparations for the match against the Iraqi national team.
