Baghdad: The Ministry of Planning, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), conducted a workshop to discuss the update of the Private Sector Strategy for 2014-2030. The workshop was chaired by Sabah Jundi Mansour, Director General of the Economic and Financial Policies Department, who emphasized the importance of the private sector in achieving sustainable economic development.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mansour highlighted the private sector's role as a critical partner in constructing a diversified and robust national economy. He reiterated the committee's dedication to enhancing this sector's role by formulating a comprehensive vision that addresses current challenges and leverages future opportunities.
Mansour stated that the workshop marks a significant step in a prolonged process requiring joint efforts and active involvement from various stakeholders, including the government, private sector, civil society, and international partners. He stressed that successfully updating the strategy relies on open dialogue, innovative ideas, and a unified vision to foster an economic environment conducive to job creation and boosting innovation and investment.
He further underscored the government's commitment to supporting the private sector as a pivotal force for driving long-term economic growth and development.
