Al-Sudani Affirms Government Support for Private Industrial Sector

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed the government's support for the private industrial sector and prioritizes its attention.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by Al-Sudani's media office revealed that he chaired a meeting to address the implementation of the industrial projects financing initiative and the reasons behind the delay in executing Cabinet Resolution No. 24930 of 2024. During the meeting, discussions focused on the initiative's scope and beneficiaries, leading to solutions aimed at ensuring the sustainability of project support. This includes providing necessary funding through the Industrial Bank and encouraging industrialists to promote their completed projects.

Al-Sudani emphasized the project's significance, highlighting its potential to spur the growth of the country's industrial sector. He stressed the need for credible initiatives, supported by adequate infrastructure for regulation, financing, and implementation. He warned that failure to realize these initiatives could hinder the development process.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to the private industrial sector, emphasizing its prioritization in terms of attention, support, and the facilitation of procedures and financing. This support is seen as crucial for economic development, creating job opportunities for youth, and achieving self-sufficiency in several strategic industries.
