Pyongyang: North Korea announced on Thursday that the construction of a new bridge linking it to Russia that spans the Tumen River represents a “significant” step to strengthen relations between the two countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, construction began on Wednesday following an agreement reached during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to North Korea in 2024. The Korean Central News Agency confirmed that the bridge will support economic cooperation, tourism, and commodity trading.

The project, which has been under consideration for years, is a key infrastructure for stimulating bilateral exchanges, reflecting the two countries’ commitment to developing their partnership in various fields.
