Najaf: The leader of the Sadrist Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, has once again called for reform and urged his followers to adhere to the national approach of the Sadrist family in supporting Iraq as a homeland and choosing reform as a path.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sadr made these remarks during a speech delivered to thousands of his followers who gathered in front of his residence in the Hanana neighborhood and at the shrine of the Sadr martyrs in Wadi al-Salam. The gathering was part of the ceremonies commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr and his two sons.

Al-Sadr highlighted the importance of advocating for reform and speaking out when necessary. He urged his followers to take care of religion, sect, and Iraq, following the approach of Muhammad al-Sadr. “Our silence is speaking, and the speech of the corrupt and oppressors is silence,” he stated, emphasizing the power and responsibility of his movement to influence change.

He continued by referencing the late Grand Ayatollah Muhammad al-Sadr, who opposed oppressors and destructive forces, noting, “The hearts of the oppressors are in our hands.” Al-Sadr adapted this message to the current context, asserting, “The hearts of the corrupt are in our hands.”

The event was marked by chants from al-Sadr and his followers, affirming their commitment to Iraq and reform while rejecting foreign influence with calls of “Yes, yes to Iraq… Yes, yes to reform… No, no, to occupier… No, no, to America… No, no, to Israel.”
